Five pharmaceutical companies ranked among Fortune's 500 companies list for 2017, in addition to the eight healthcare providers that made the cut.
To determine which companies would comprise the 63rd annual list, Fortune examined each organization's total revenue for their respective 2016-2017 fiscal years.
The companies listed among the Fortune 500 represent approximately two-thirds of the United States' global domestic product, and account for nearly $12 trillion in revenue and $890 billion in profits.
