Andrew McCulloch, president of Kaiser Permanente Northwest, to retire: 3 points

After a decade of serving as president of Kaiser Permanente Hospitals and Health Plan of the Northwest, Andrew McCulloch is retiring next month.

Here are three points:

1. Mr. McCulloch assumed his role in 2006.

2. During his tenure, the health plan was highly rated by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. It was also a leader in member satisfaction as measured by J.D. Power member health plan study.

3. Mr. McCulloch also led Kaiser Permanente to invest more than $1 billion in community benefit and health projects, such as building medically supported housing for the homeless in Portland, Ore.
