The following healthcare mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and general transactions took place or were announced during the past week.

1. UCLA Health, AccentCare form joint home health venture
UCLA Health in Los Angeles and Dallas-based AccentCare inked an agreement Aug. 7 to form a jointly owned home health services agency.

2. Cincinnati Children's, UK HealthCare revive pediatric heart surgery program after 5 years
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and UK HealthCare's Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington resumed their joint cardiothoracic care services program after a five year suspension.

3. Fresenius Medical to acquire NxStage Medical for $2B
Fresenius Medical Care, a German medical supply producer, inked an agreement to acquire Lawrence, Mass.-based NxStage Medical, a producer of medical products for dialysis patients.

4. OSF HealthCare signs LOI to take over ownership of 2 Presence Health hospitals
Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare signed a letter of intent with Chicago-based Presence Health to assume ownership of two Illinois hospitals — Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana and Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

5. Envision sells ambulance business for $2.4B
Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare, the product of the 2016 AmSurg and Envision Healthcare Holdings merger, sold its ambulance business to global investment firm KKR for $2.4 billion in cash.

6. CHI Memorial inks management agreement with Georgia hospital
CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga (Tenn.), part of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, signed an agreement Aug. 7 to assume management operations at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.-based Cornerstone Medical Center.

7. Norton Healthcare, Kentucky Primary Care Association ink collaboration agreement
Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare and Frankfort-based Kentucky Primary Care Association entered into an agreement Aug. 7 to improve care for residents across the state.

8. Dignity Health, UCSF partner to expand care in northern California
San Francisco-based Dignity Health and UC San Francisco Medical Center formalized an affiliation agreement Aug. 8 to expand and improve care for residents in the San Francisco Bay Area.

9. Piedmont Healthcare opens 27 retail clinics in Atlanta Walgreens stores
Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare will open retail clinics in 27 Walgreens stores across the Atlanta metro area with an aim of improving access to healthcare services.
