Peterson Center on Healthcare names new director

The New York-based Peterson Center on Healthcare has named Jay Want, MD, its new executive director.

The Peterson Center is a non-profit organization focused on creating an affordable healthcare system through value-based care. Dr. Want is the founder of Want Healthcare, a medical consulting company, and has worked in various healthcare leadership roles in addition to his 10 years of primary care experience.

"I am thrilled to join the Peterson Center on Healthcare at a moment when the U.S. healthcare system is seeking solutions from the ground up," said Dr. Want. "Focusing on the patient-provider relationship will enable us to seek, validate and spread care that improves outcomes and lowers costs nationwide."
