McConnell: Plan for healthcare reform is 'murky'

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., admitted Monday that his party's next steps for healthcare reform are unclear, according to The Hill.

Mr. McConnell led GOP efforts to repeal and replace the ACA, but his push to pass a "skinny" repeal was defeated 51-49 in July after three Republican senators voted with Democrats, effectively stalling unilateral Republican healthcare reforms.

"Obviously we had a setback on the effort to make dramatic changes on Obamacare. The way forward is somewhat murky," Mr. McConnell said.

Mr. McConnell added that he believed Democrats "have been pretty uninterested in any reforms" but said he was curious to see what bipartisan healthcare talks between Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., will yield.
